Jerry Jambrosek recently retired after 36 years with the Internal Revenue Service as a Supervisory Attorney in charge of the Chicago Estate and Gift Tax Division. In that position he was responsible for the selection, assignment and ultimate disposition of all estate and gift tax returns filed in the northern half of Illinois. Jerry was also one of only two estate and gift tax managers in the nation accredited as a business valuation expert.

Jerry began his career in 1969 as an Estate Tax Attorney for the IRS. He was quickly promoted to Senior Estate Tax Attorney with duties including instructing and counseling new attorneys, developing training materials, and working on larger and more complex cases.

From 1976 to 1985, Jerry was elected and served as Vice President of Chapter 10 of the National Treasury Employee's Union, representing approximately 2,000 Chapter 10 members. In addition to his position as an officer of the union, Jerry served as counsel to Chapter 10, performing federal sector labor relations work, handling grievances, adverse action hearings, contract negotiations, FOIA requests, ULPs, and EEO complaints.

In 1985, he became a Supervisory Attorney for the IRS and for the next 15 years managed a group of 8 - 15 attorneys.

In July 2000, Jerry became an Accredited Valuation Analyst, certified by the National Association of
Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Jerry reviewed business valuation reports submitted by taxpayers and assisted revenue agents
and counsel in valuation-based cases such as FLPS and ESOPs, working with both the IRS and the U.S. Department of Labor.
