George's practice has focused in the area of general litigation since 1981.
In addition to extensive probate and trust litigation experience, his practice
has covered state and federal court trials and appeals on various general commercial
litigation matters, including fraud and fraudulent conveyances, commercial torts,
intellectual property disputes, bankruptcy-related litigation, breach of contract,
disputes concerning closely-held corporations, antitrust, securities law, defending
against dealers' and franchisees' statutory and contractual claims,
collections and ERISA-related litigation. He has also handled general personal
injury and product liability litigation and technical commercial litigation regarding:
banking litigation (including lender liability, suits on commercial loans, mortgage
foreclosures, loan participations); environmental litigation; disputes relating to
design and construction of nuclear power plants; litigation over purchase of a
software business (including technical product development questions);
Lanham Act/trademark litigation; representing patent lawyers in infringement
litigation; construction litigation relating to specifications; trade secret
litigation; noncompetition litigation.
Before joining Harrison & Held, LLP, George was affiliated with Mayer, Brown & Platt as an associate from 1981 to 1987 and as a partner from 1988 to 1991. He then founded his own firm, Vurdelja and Associates, which operated from 1991 to 1994, when he formed a partnership with John Heaphy, known as Vurdelja & Heaphy. Both John and George joined Harrison & Held, LLP on March 1, 2007.
